Full – Time Research Assistant - (12-month Contract)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable full time Research Assistant to assist the Principal Investigator, Prof Brenda Yeoh, in several research projects relating to transnational migration.

You will be based at Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore, and will also have the chance to work with an international team of migration scholars on various existing migration cluster projects in Asia Research Institute (see for more information).

The successful candidate will be involved in secondary data collection, desk research, writing and editing reports, publications and materials, as well as assist with simple administrative work.

You should have at least an Honours degree or equivalent in the Social Sciences/Humanities. Your research interests should fall within a relevant area of the social sciences (e.g. Migration Studies in the South-east Asian region).

We are looking for suitable candidates to fill the position of Research Assistant.



The candidate should possess the following:

  1. Good project management, team-building skills and an aptitude for working in a Southeast Asian context;
  2. Research experience in Asia, including fieldwork experience;
  3. Strong library research skills;
  4. Excellent command of spoken and written English, and the ability to write for a variety of audiences;
  5. Strong ability to perform editing work on manuscripts;
  6. Organizational skills.

The candidate should possess the following:

  1. An all inclusive and fixed salary which will commensurate with qualification and relevant working experience;
  2. Pro-rated holiday leave of up to 28 days per calendar year;
