Yoga Prasetyo is currently working with Prof Brenda Yeoh on the third wave of CHAMPSEA, ARI’s longest-running study on the impacts of long-term parental migration across Southeast Asia—research that resonates personally with his own experience growing up in Tulungagung as a “left-behind” child.

The author of memorably titled articles such as Bohemia at the Pacific Seabed, Oceans of Ooze, and Mollusk Loves, at ARI, Postdoctoral Fellow Jonathan Galka continues his deep dive into the ocean's depths, working on a monograph about mid-20th century deep-sea mining aspirations.

Fathun Karib is a joint appointment postdoctoral fellow under the ARI-DIJ Research Partnership on Asian Infrastructures and affiliated to the Inter-Asia Engagements and Science, Technology, and Society clusters. His current research interests are energy and environmental history, critical agrarian studies, Anthropocene/Capitalocene, political economy of disaster, commodity frontiers, and the history of geology as a science.
