Description The manuscript contains selected portions of Iḥyāʾ ʿulūm al-dīn: ff. 2r–30v, Kitāb Ādāb al-ʿUzla; ff. 31r–59r, Kitāb Ādāb al-Safar; and ff. 59r–111r, Kitāb Ādāb al-Samāʿ wa-al-Wajd. These sections present a Sufi understanding of music and singing as means of purifying the soul, softening the heart, and awakening love and longing for God. Rather than treating sound as mere entertainment, the text frames it as an instrument of spiritual transformation, guided by proper intention and conditions. It also shows how retreat, travel, and audition each serve as disciplines that shape inward awareness and detach the seeker from distraction.
