Time: 09:30 – 18:15
Venue:

Ngee Ann Auditorium
Asian Civilisations Museum

This symposium is co-organised by the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM); Nanyang Technological University (NTU); and National University of Singapore (NUS).

This symposium celebrates the careers of Professors Leonard and Barbara Andaya – preeminent figures in the fields of Southeast Asian and Asian history – who have recently retired from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa after decades in the field. Their illustrious careers have spanned over 30 years, during which they have contributed extensive research, and shared their work through prolific writing and teaching. The Andayas will give two lectures on their current work, followed by sharings and reflections from their peers, former colleagues, senior and junior scholars, former students, as well as representatives from museums and university presses in Singapore and beyond.
