Perspectives on Identity, Nationality, Diasporic Affinities, and Home (PINDAH)
Indonesians represent the third largest migrant group in Singapore. The varied religious and ethnic backgrounds of these Indonesians, in addition to their representation in different sectors and under different migration schemes, underscores the importance of understanding how these various factors impact the establishment of a sense of belonging among this diasporic group in Singapore. This project employs an understanding of transnationalism to approach identity as something which is fluid and constantly being re-negotiated and projected through relation to multiple facets of identity and in connection to multiple places and roles.
