Religion and Gobalisation Reading Group

The group was first formed in March of 2012 as the "Religion and Development Reading Group" and was coordinated by Robin Bush and Philip Fountain. Since mid-2015 the group meets monthly to discuss texts and share ideas related to the intersection of religion and global problems in contemporary Asia. The group adopts a broad focus on religion and seeks to examine multiple related themes including (but not limited to) religious actors and the nation, gender, ethnicity, politics & secularism, economic development and philanthropy. The readings for the Religion and Globalisation Reading Group are selected among titles published in the last 3 years to help the group explore and discuss the latest works in the field.
