Research on Progressive Cities was launched by an NUS-Université Sorbonne grant that funded a dialogic workshop in Singapore in February 2015 and a Symposium in Paris in May 2015 under the theme of the 'Rise of Progressive Cities in Asia and Europe'. In this project, cities and city governance are assessed in terms of their contributions to the core idea of human flourishing along 4 dimensions: inclusion, distributive justice, conviviality, and the natural environment.
