In 2014, research on the Vernacular City directs attention to the exercise of human agency in the production of urban spaces that culturally, socially, and physically shape the city. The Vernacular City continues its collaboration with the Urban Knowledge Network Asia (UKNA), FASS Cities Research Cluster, and the Future Cities Laboratory.
