This was a report on the Singapore Summit 2019 at which Professor Kishore Mahbubani, Distinguished Fellow at the Asia Research Institute at NUS, was a speaker of one of the dialogue sessions. Prof Mahbubani discussed the close ties amongst the Southeast Asian countries, as well as the relations between the Northeast Asian nations. He opined that although the Northeast Asian nations may be better-heeled economically than the Southeast Asian nations, they have much to learn in politics and diplomatic relations from the Southeast Asians nations that are more harmonious and politically stable.
