Fatherland: Soil and water
This was an article contribution by Dr Al Makin, Visiting Research Fellow at the Asia Research Institute at NUS. Dr Makin illustrated that water in the ocean, rivers, lakes and ponds remain obstacles for Indonesians to defend the national unity. He opined that Indonesians need to learn more about and love the sea, which is indeed far larger than their soil.
