Mr Benjamin Khoo commenced his appointment as Institute Research Associate (Communications) with effect from 7 July 2022.

He has an MA in Colonial and Global History from Leiden University. Prior to joining ARI, he was a Research Officer at ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute. Benjamin has worked on several research projects and grants on Singapore before 1819. He is primarily interested in early modern Asia, specifically the Deccan, and cultural diplomacy, global entanglements and the circulation of knowledge. At ARI his work involves highlighting the work of ARI researchers through ARI’s communication channels.
