Dr Walker DePuy commenced his appointment as Postdoctoral Fellow with the Asian Urbanisms, and Science, Technology and Society (STS) Research Clusters with effect from 15 January 2024.

 Dr DePuy holds a PhD in Integrative Conservation and Anthropology from the University of Georgia.  His work centres on the politics of conservation in mosaic landscapes with an emphasis on environmental governance and justice.  His geographical focal regions include Indonesia and Kenya. 

At ARI, he will continue an ongoing research programme with partners from Cornell University, Universitas Mulawarman, and local area communities to study Indonesia’s relocation of its national capital from Jakarta to East Kalimantan through multi-sited ethnography, collaborative science, and Indigenous soundscapes.
