Dr Exequiel Cabanda is Research Fellow with the Asian Migration Cluster.
He has a PhD in Public Policy and Global Affairs from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is a policy scientist whose research focuses on health human resource policy, the mobility of health workers, and the interconnectedness of health, migration, and higher education. His interdisciplinary approach encompasses policy sciences, international political economy, and labour studies. Before joining academia, Exequiel gained extensive experience working in government and private financial institutions, with a focus on development finance, planning, corporate finance, and agricultural policy research. At ARI, Exequiel is working on the Philippines-Singapore nurse migration stream by examining how and why Singapore is a popular “bus stop” for Filipino nurses who wish to settle permanently in popular destination countries.
