VALENZUELA, Ven Paolo Bruno

Dr Ven Paolo Bruno Valenzuela commenced his appointment as Research Fellow with the Asian Urbanisms Cluster on 25 April 2022.

He has a PhD in Sustainability Science from the University of Tokyo, Japan. He is a Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and climate change adaptation (CCA) researcher who specialises in the synergies between disaster risk and climate change in Asia and the Pacific, particularly in coastal urban areas. He has been involved in various research and programmes in relation to disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and sustainable development over the past 10 years. His current research interest focuses on the social and societal implications of advance or attack-type adaptation to disasters climate change (e.g. ports, seawalls, land reclamation) in urban areas in Asia. Dr Valenzuela was also a recipient of the 2019 Asian Graduate Student Fellowship at ARI, NUS.
