Mr Chu Hao Pei joined as Research Assistant with the Science, Technology, and Society (STS) Cluster on 30 January 2023.

Hao Pei graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a bachelor’s in Fine Arts (Interactive Media). He is interested in the region of Southeast Asia with a focus on Chinese archival sources, natural history and the socio-political impacts from contemporary translation(s) of historical events. He will be assisting PI, Assoc Prof Gregory Clancey, in his project on the historical development of the animal-based drug trade across East and Southeast Asia. He will be establishing a database and website on the impact of the expansion of Traditional Medicine pharmaceutical supply chains in Asia on animal populations.
